ABOUT
Yago Dora didn't touch a surfboard until he was 11. He was born in Curitiba and grew up in Florianópolis, coached from the start by his father Leandro. By 21 he was on tour, going up against Gabriel Medina and Mick Fanning. His surfing looks nothing like anyone else's on the CT. It's built on flow and feel rather than the standard tour formula.
He won his first WSL World Title at Cloudbreak in 2025, in conditions that were maxing out all day. He beat Griffin Colapinto in the opening match, which meant he didn't need a decider to seal it. He already had four Championship Tour event wins and a US Open of Surfing title before that. Yago surfs with speed and control, and he does it on his own terms.
