ABOUT

George Pittar spent his first ten years in Vanuatu before moving back to Australia and settling in Manly at 11. He built his surfing around that mix of environments, reef breaks and beach breaks - and it shows in the range of conditions he can handle. He qualified for the Championship Tour through a strong Qualifying Series run, but his rookie season ended hard when he missed the mid-season cut at the 2025 Margaret River Pro.

He went back to the Challenger Series, requalified for 2026, and returned to the exact same event a year later with a different mindset. He knocked out Yago Dora, Italo Ferreira, and Gabriel Medina on his way to the final, then beat Medina in a tactical, low-scoring heat to claim his first-ever Championship Tour win. It capped an eight-year climb from junior ranks to the top of the sport, and he did it by beating three Brazilian world champions in a row to get there.
