ABOUT
Dane Henry grew up in Fingal Head, close enough to Snapper Rocks to grow up under Mick Fanning's influence, and it shows in both his surfing and his work ethic. He announced himself in 2024 with viral clips of backflips and full rotations, and he's kept pushing the aerial game further ever since, chasing tricks few surfers have landed. He wants to be the first surfer to land a double backflip, and he's already come close.
In January 2026, he won his first WSL World Junior Title in the Philippines, becoming the first surfer since Tom Curren in 1982 to hold the ISA World Games title and the junior world title at the same time. That capped a run that included ISA junior and open gold medals, a regional Australia/Oceania Junior title, and his first Qualifying Series win, and he's set his sights on the WSL Challenger Series in 2026 on his way toward the Championship Tour. Still a teenager, and already being talked about as Australia's next world title hope.
