After a week of some of the heaviest rain and destructive floods seen on the Australian east coast, the forecast suddenly shifted to present a window of offshore winds, sunny weather and what promised to be pumping surf.

Our team got together pre-dawn, geared up and hit the highway in search of what lay ahead. Making up the trio was Narrabeen legend Jordy Lawler, style bandit Oscar Langburne plus good mate & all-round ripper Joel Vaughan.

Day one was met with cold & fast chocolate barrels which slowly transitioned into rippable, crystal clear water as the team moved north up the coast.

Checking familiar spots with the odd detour along the way led to some fruitful discoveries & a reminder that searching off the beaten track often rewards those willing to turn left.
